Grow Room Testing Data For Green

To quantify and compare different agriculture lighting systems, 3 criteria are using.

1, Colour Spectrum(by hand held equipment)

2, Total Light Output, measured in a Integrated sphere

3, Light Object, measure in a specific configuration

Sometimes, if you design and optimize grow room and lighting object, you can use the Colour Spectrum and Light Object for reference, the Integrated sphere is more expensive for most of us.

Here is the chart of Photosynthetically Active Radiation(Aka PAR), used for green growth.

Photosynthetically_Active_Radiation

The chart shows what part of the light the pant will absorb for its photosynthesis process.

PPFD(Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) Measurements: Represents the number of photons the plant effectively absorbs, according to its PAR. Here, PPFD will determine the standard harvest of the growing system. We call PPFD target the count of photons on the grow area per second (umol/s) which will determine the standard harvest of your grow system.

Check 9 zones of the grow area, allowing growers to foresee the potential harvest of grow system, this will help growers defining the other components of grow system in correlation with the light chosen.

Measurement Data for Different Type of Light Product, they are HPS 600W, TLED 26W, TNEON 110W and CFL.

HPS

The grow are with a HPS, show you the with different configuration.

HPS

The tend surface is make of Mylar, this nearly double the number of photons received on the grow area,  compare to the same area where there was no tent. Adding Orca sheets brings up to 24% more light to your plants.

Orca tent brings 40% more light to your plant than Mylar tent.

LED

Here comes LED light tube. 6500K, White light.

LED

LED tube gives similar PPFD than HPS: It is the perfect lighting for 0.2 to 0.8 m2 systems.

As its low temperature, the device should stay as close as possible to the plant to give best results.

CFL

CFL

Thanks to its low temperature, the device should stay as close as possible to the plant to give best results. CFL will be lower investment than LED tubes but will need more electricity and replacements. Someone therefore advise CFL when used part time and LED tubes when used full time. Haha, there is funny thing.

Hey this is just easy testing, very basic understanding to learn the grow light things.
